Quick answer: For most people waxing at home in Pakistan, halawa (sugar) wax is the best place to start. It is gentle, needs no strips, and washes off with water. If you want to do legs and arms quickly, use strip wax. For short, stubborn hair on the underarms or face, hard wax works best. Liposoluble wax is the salon choice for large areas.
We make Wax Bee, so we are not neutral. Below we explain each type honestly, name the other brands you will see in Pakistan, and give a checklist you can use for any brand.
The 4 types of wax, side by side
| Wax type | Best for | Strips needed? | Clean-up | Wax Bee option |

Which wax brands can you buy in Pakistan?
- Wax Bee (that’s us): Pakistani brand. Halawa, finger, strip, hard, hybrid and liposoluble wax. 300g halawa tubs with a free applicator, cash on delivery across Pakistan.
- Veet: the best-known international name in Pakistani shops. Sells ready-made wax strips, finger wax and creamy strip wax. Easy to find in pharmacies and big stores.
- Rica: Italian salon brand. Mostly liposoluble and “Brazilian” hard wax. Very good, but priced for salons, and needs a heater.
- Local halawa brands: many small brands sell halawa in 120g to 150g tubs on marketplaces. Quality varies a lot: some are too runny, some too hard.
No single brand is “best” for everyone. The right wax depends on your skin, the body area and your budget.
How to choose: a 5-point checklist
- Your skin. Sensitive or acne-prone? Start with halawa or aloe vera wax, and do a patch test first.
- The area. Legs and arms: strip wax is fastest. Underarms and bikini: halawa or hard wax hurt less. Face: see our face wax guide.
- Hair length. Wax grips best when hair is about as long as a grain of rice. Too short and it won’t come out; too long and it hurts more.
- Weight for the price. Compare price per gram, not price per tub. Many halawa tubs are 120g to 200g; Wax Bee’s is 300g.
- Clean-up and extras. Halawa washes off with water. Strip and liposoluble wax need strips, an applicator and after-wax oil. Check what’s in the box.
Why so many Pakistani women (and men) choose halawa
Halawa is the traditional sugar wax used in homes across Pakistan. Wax Bee halawa is made from simple ingredients: sugar, glucose, honey, lemon juice and water. How to use it:
- Spread a thin layer with the applicator, in the direction of hair growth.
- Press your finger firmly on the wax. No strips or cloth needed.
- Hold the skin tight and pull quickly against the direction of hair growth.
- Repeat until the area is clean, then moisturise.
It comes in four flavours: lemon (brightening), aloe vera (soothing, good for sensitive skin), charcoal and strawberry.
Weather tip from our team: Wax Bee halawa is made for use all year. In very hot weather, if it gets too soft, keep it in the fridge for a while. In very cold weather, if it is too hard, warm the closed jar in hot water or sunlight for about 15 minutes.

When strip wax or hard wax is the better buy
- Strip wax is quicker for legs and arms. Spread a thin layer with the applicator, press a strip on, pull it off fast. Our 400g strip wax combos come with imported strips and a free applicator.
- Hard wax hardens on the skin and peels off without strips. It grips short, coarse hair well, so many people use it for underarms and the bikini line. Try Wax Bee aloe vera hard wax.
Price guide: what does good wax cost in Pakistan?
- Small finger wax or halawa tubs: about Rs 400 to Rs 600
- 300g halawa tub with applicator: about Rs 1,200
- 400g strip wax with strips: about Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,500
- 800g liposoluble salon wax: about Rs 2,900 and up
A tub that costs a little more but lasts several sessions is usually cheaper than buying small tubs again and again.

Frequently asked questions
Which wax is best for sensitive skin?
Halawa (sugar) wax, especially aloe vera. It is made from simple ingredients and washes off with water. Always do a small patch test first.
Which wax hurts the least?
Most people find halawa and hard wax less painful than strip wax, because they hold the hair more than the skin. Holding the skin tight and pulling fast also helps.
How long do results last?
Usually 3 to 4 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows.
Is halawa better than Veet?
They are different products. Veet strips are quick and easy to find. Halawa is gentler, washes off with water, and one tub lasts many sessions. Pick by your skin and the area you want to wax.
Can men use these waxes?
Yes. Halawa, strip and hard wax all work for men’s chest, back, arms and legs.
